The webmaster, Scott Shumate and I have been discussing some upcoming features of this website. They include:
- Twitter notification. We hope that this will expedite the dissemination of important and time-sensitive information. Of course, this feature will require members to sign up for the Twitter Account. Scott has the account and is planning an online video tutorial as we speak to facilitate the sign-up process.
- Online Payment. With this feature, we intend for members to be able to pay their annual dues. This will assist those like me that know they have to send them byt never “find” the time to drop a check in the mail or drop by the Lodge. For our military and out-of-state members – this should help you tremendously. Of course, this will be a secure – online payment method. We hope that this feature is in place for the 2013 Dues year.
Aric Storck and I have been discussing an additional information platform that will enable the members of the Lodge to see the activities of not just our Lodge, but the activities of all Lodges within District 7. We have been coorsponding with Wor. Bros. Paul Beaumont and Burnlee Hunt, District 7 Chairman and Deputy respectfully and obtained their support. Some members already subscribe to “MoLight” but this is a District 9 newsletter. We would like to see a District 7 version of “MoLight” and we are well on our way to develop one. Yes, for you computer folks – there are plans on making it web-based for easy download.
Trestle Board. I plan on ensuring the Trestle Board is mailed and distributed via email NLT the 20th of every month. Events on the Calendar will be posted as of publication date. Everyone can expect their Trestle Board for February 2012 to be in hand NLT the end of the month – January.
